Already in the preparations for COP28, CEBDS, through CT Climate, Energy and Sustainable Finance, promoted the webinar “What did the Bonn Preparatory Conference represent?”, on July 12, in partnership with LACLIMA. The action was exclusive to associated companies.
The event was attended by the Executive Director of LACLIMA, Caroline Prolo, presenting what was discussed at the Conference, which is also known as Pre-COP, the results for the business sector and Brazil's position in the discussions, as well as trends for the COP 28.
For the Director of Climate, Energy and Sustainable Finance, Viviane Romeiro, understanding the pre-COP results and referrals is important for the government, business sector and civil society to prepare more strategically for COP28.
The Bonn Preparatory Conference took place from 5 to 15 June. The event, held annually, seeks to advance and continue discussions on critical points on the Paris Agreement agenda and prepare draft decisions for adoption at the COP.
This year, technical discussions in Bonn involved important topics such as the Global Stocktake, mitigation and adaptation actions, climate finance, just transition and loss and damage, which will be taken to the negotiating tables at COP 28.
COP 28 will take place in Dubai, from November 30th to December 12th, and CEBDS will soon publish its activities schedule at the event.
