Nature Disclosure in a Megadiverse Country: A Case Study of the Land Use Sector

The biodiversity crisis poses a growing risk to ecosystems and business sustainability. Based on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, signed at COP15, this publication discusses how targets such as Target 15, which addresses the private sector's responsibility to report impacts on nature, are being implemented in Brazil through tools such as the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures).

Led by CEBDS and supported by strategic partners, the document "Nature Disclosure: A Case Study of the Land Use Sector" applied the TNFD's LEAP methodology to 20 Brazilian companies, primarily from the land use sector, in a collaborative exercise to measure risks, impacts, and dependencies on biodiversity. The initiative highlights challenges and lessons learned in the Brazilian context, focusing on biomes, production chains, critical suppliers, and ecologically sensitive areas.

This material brings together exclusive data, maps, and heatmaps, as well as testimonials and case studies from participating companies. It's essential content for organizations looking to integrate natural capital into their strategic decisions and position themselves in response to new global transparency and sustainability requirements.
